Description
The Aide to Hairline Surface Area Device (AHSAD) is used to measure the surface area on the head. This can be done for both the scalp between the ears for follicular donation and at the top of the head for follicular reception.
Packaging:
The AHSAD consists of a 0.55 ft2 (79.02 in2 or 509.81 cm2) transparent medical-grade silicone rubber sheet measuring 11.75 in x 8.56 in (29.85 cm x 21.75 cm) along with one sheet of a Surface Area Determination scale paper that contains a grid measuring 20 cm long x 15 cm high (7.87 in x 6.3 in) to give a surface area of 300 cm2 (49.6 in2).
Instructions for use:
- Place the silicone rubber sheet over the area to be measured.
- Mark the area using a marker that can be wiped off easily. Do not use a Sharpie or a permanent marker.
- Once done, place the sheet over the surface area scale paper and measure at the center point of the sheet. Blocks in red measure 5 cm x 5 cm (25 cm2), in black measure 1 cm x 1 cm (1 cm2), and in blue measure either 0.5 cm x 0.5 cm (0.25 cm2 if using the ½ line) or 0.25 cm x 0.25 cm (0.0625 cm2 if using the ¼ lines). Use red blocks for large areas, black blocks for normal sized areas, and blue blocks for small area.>
